Whether you ran out of playlists to skip through or are tired of reading books, I compiled a list of my favorite podcasts that keep me motivated and informed while I paint. See some of my new artwork here.
Jennifer Allwood has been a business owner for 25 years and has an online mentorship program where she coaches creatives to launch their own businesses. This podcast is part no holding back honesty, part mentorship, and a little bit like going to church all rolled into one. I am always encouraged after listening to her. In fact, I just joined her Inner Circle and highly recommend it! I created my Happiness series while listening to Jennifer.
I recently found this podcast and have already binged most of the episodes. Host Serwaa Adjei-Pellé has created a platform that empowers women entrepreneurs to forge their own paths in their creative space. She has great guest speakers that tell their own stories that any entrepreneur can relate to. This is your hub for all things empowerment, business, and entrepreneurship. She is a business strategist who offers services for women, specifically black women looking for ways to grow and scale their business.
Host Jenna Rainey shares all the mistakes that she made as a new creative business owner on her podcast to avoid making the same mistakes. She has great guest speakers that provide their unique perspectives of starting in a creative field. This podcast talks a lot about different ways to scale your business by creating digital products and licensing your artwork. This is a well of valuable information for anyone looking into scaling their business. I purchased her Pen to Press and her SEO Crash Course. Both courses have been beneficial while building my website.
Hosted by Erica Mandy, this podcast is fast, fair, and on the go. It’s a brief 10 minutes news segment that comes out every day. I love it because it’s a non-biased news source about current events. You can listen to this whenever you can spare a few minutes and stay informed. Every time I listen to this podcast, I get a memory flash of my Dad reading the newspaper in his easy chair when I was a kid. This is my version of the newspaper easy chair.
This one is a time investment. The podcast usually clocks in at about an hour an episode. The hosts are two lawyers, Beth Silvers and Sara Stewart Holland, and if you are interested in the political climate that we are living in at this moment, then take a listen. They go above and beyond to research the topics they create, and they do so with care and nuance. This podcast keeps you engaged and informed. They also talk about the importance of self-care, and I am in complete agreement.
That sums it up! This is by no means an exhaustive list of all of the podcasts that I listen to, and I am always looking for more podcasts that will educate, inspire and help me create the vision that I want for my life. If you have a podcast you think I might like, please leave a comment below.
